Feral Persona

Metamorphic Rock, Recycled Plastic, Touchdesigner, Raspberry Pi, LCD Screens.

Feral Persona is a speculative, hybrid installation work. It explores the “afterlife” of plastic. Not as a passive waste product but as an active material in the Anthropocene. People often see plastic as a passive pollutant, while this project looks at how plastic shifts from being a human-made consumer item into something with a feral identity, one that fuses with natural materials to form a new, synthetic ecology.

The work is built around two parts, a physical sculpture and a digital system. The physical sculpture consists of a rock and a recycled plastic panel. The digital system visualizes the microscopic living system of plastics through Reaction Diffusion logic.

Ultimately, this project aims to decentre human perspective. It encourages viewers to rethink about material agency, geological time and the consequences of human systems losing control over the materials they have created.
