Sculptor?
2025
Arduino Tinkerkit Braccio, Arduino IDE, Arduino UNO & R4, DHT11 Temperature & Humidity Sensor, Stepper Motor, Air Hardening Clay & 3D Printing
This work uses a robotic arm that takes in both environmental data (temperature & humidity).
The inputs are computed together to determine the speed, strength, and movement of the robotic arm in real time. Each session can be timed under different enviromnet with varying temperature and humidity to producing a different artwork.
Sculptor? showcases the entanglement between technology and nature, reimagining the robotic arm not as a passive instrument, but as an active participant in the act of creation. By decentralizing the human role, we ask, can machines be independent and creative? It challenges us to reconsider authorship, value systems, and the place of machines within the posthuman condition.
